Bowen Welcomes Visiting Professor from Washburn University Law School
Students at the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law will see a new face in the legal writing classroom this semester. Visiting Professor Lyn Goering of Washburn University Law School in Topeka, Kan., will spend Fall 2009 on the Little Rock campus.
Goering received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Kansas. She is also a graduate of the Washburn University Law School and has been teaching legal writing there since 2004. From 2004-2008, she served as director of the school's Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research Program.
Prior to attending Washburn, Goering was employed as a legislative fiscal analyst for the Kansas Legislature. She completed law school and then served as a research attorney for Justice Richard Holmes of the Kansas Supreme Court. In 1996 she was appointed to the Kansas Board of Tax Appeals, which adjudicates state and local tax disputes.
“Lyn brings strong experience as a public servant and a private attorney to her classroom,” said Felecia Epps, Bowen associate dean of academic affairs. “Her dedication to improving legal writing at Washburn will bring new ideas and innovation to our already vibrant legal writing program.”
Goering joins visiting professors Nicholas Kahn-Fogel and Wendell Griffen, who also served as visiting professors during the 2008-2009 academic year.
