The website of the Arkansas Legal Services Partnership [ALSP] was given national attention recently. It was featured in the September 2008 edition of the ABAJournal, the monthly magazine of the American Bar Association.
“It is an honor to have your work recognized in the most prestigious law journal in the country,” says Ron Lanoue, Director of ALSP.
Lanoue credits the publicity to Vince Morris, '06, Associate Director of Technology and Justice Projects for ALSP and creator of the website.
“Vince is a trend setter in the legal services technology community,” Lanoue says. “He has created a ‘go-to’ site for support when other organizations are seeking to expand their technology services.”
And Morris shows no signs of slowing down.
When asked about the future of the website, Morris responds with one word: “Expansion.”
The article in the ABAJournal discusses how the ALSP website has been a target of cybersquatting, a practice in which online businesses buy domain names similar to other businesses in an attempt to steal the customers of those other businesses.
In the case of ALSP, the cybersquatters charge for services that ALSP provides for free.
